This gem is the rare, first version of the Lionel turbine with no E-unit lever protruding through the top of the boiler, and a double worm driveThe E-unit is controlled with jacks in the engineers cabThis is the O gauge version numbered "671" - most of these were numbered "2020" and sold with 027 track. Almost none were numbered "671"! Also, many were modified, with the original smoke bulb being replaced by a recommended factory upgrade by service stations - this one still has the original smoke bulb assembly and bulb which is workingTender is the originally cataloged 671W with number (rubber-stamped on metal base plate), and is unscratched and completeGraded Like New (C8), PLEASE NOTE THE CASTING IS ROUGH AND PITTED ON THE CAB ROOF AND ELSEWHERE ON THE BOILER TOP - LIONEL DID SHIP LOCOS WITH ROUGH CASTINGS - THERE IWS NO WAY US LITTLE KIDS COULD PENETRATE THE HARDENED STEEN OR RAISE IT THIW WAYS The loco and tender operate perfectly and operation is guaranteedTo quote the Doyle reference guide: "...the bulk of the locomotives had a gold trimmed red keystone decal with the number "6200" applied to the boiler front keystone" - which is the case for this locoLoco and tendeer are graded Like New - any marks you may see in pictures are light reflections |
